Hula Hoopiness

Here's a layout I've made with the Mum's The Word mega-kit from DigiScrapShak. This kit is absolutely brilliant - it's full of so much stash it's a definite must-have. The only problem is, there's so much loveliness to choose from, it takes forever to make a decision on which paper or embellishment to use.

This is me and my lovely little Seanie - he was 9 when this was taken, and as you can see I was sporting my long dark straight 'Mama Cass' hairdo (my sister thought she was funny comparing me to her, little does she realise that she will NEVER be as gorgeous as me!) Anyway, my Sean is a little treasure, he tells me everyday that he loves me, even when he clearly doesn't (he's a teenager now, after all), and he's the best son a Mother could wish for. Lucky me!

After my little stropfest yesterday, I'm feeling much better. Well, I'm feeling much better NOW, I should say. I still felt very fragile and sensitive this morning, but I've got better as the day went on. Like I said yesterday, I get over things like this very quickly - just as well, as I can't bear being all weepy and wailing over stuff.

I've been very industrious again tonight and been to the gym again. It was a mad rush to pick the kids up after work and get over to the gym in time to do a class, but we made it - and I went off and did the Hula-aerobics class. Flipping heck! I'm sure when I was just a young girlie-wirlie I could hula with the best of them, but age and fat has definitely changed all that! I just could NOT hula. In fact, I spent more time bending over to pick the hoop back up off the floor than I did actually hula-ing, so at least I did get SOME sort of workout - and I was sweating like a mad woman by the end of the class. One thing I've learnt though, is that next time I go I need to get some of those towelling wristbands - part of the class involves spinning the hoop around with your wrist, and it HURTS! My wrists feel all bruised and sore now ... but it was fun.

I finished my workout with a session on the treadmill, but I was tired and my hip ached, so I didn't do as well as I did yesterday, but every little helps, so I'm not too worried. I think I'm going to give myself a day off tomorrow and just spend the evening chilling out and maybe catch up on some of the layouts I've been meaning to do.

On that note, I think it's time I took myself off to bed.

Oh Kate your description of your hula-aerobics is hilarious. I could just see myself in your shoes rofl. A couple of years alog one of my girls had a hula-hoop activity with their moms and I begged off with the excuse of being 7 1/2 months pregnant hehe (i really was). Good for you though trying it! Keep up the good work.
