Flowering Fancies

Yesterday morning I repotted my new bit of orchid. Happily, later in the day, the bud on the end of it seemed a lot firmer than it had in the morning, and there is another budding little budlet right on the end of the stalk, so I am hopeful that it will pick up again and continue to flourish.

As you can see from this picture, it's quite a good size.

So, onto my second picture (sorry for bad quality of these pics, I took them with my mobile). I thought you might like to see the veritable jungle that lives on my windowsill. But this isn't it as far as plants go, no ... I have a big peace lily that lives on my shelf and a basket that also contains a peace lily (it also had some ivy, and a couple of other unknown flowering plants in it, but they are pretty much dead - but as you can see, my big pot on the left has a thriving ivy in it, so I'm not so worried about the other one).

I'm suffering with a stiff neck. It started yesterday and feels worse this morning. I felt really unwell yesterday, really cold and sorta shakyish. I managed a ten minute nap on the couch while my jacket potato was cooking, but I was in bed at around 9.00 pm. I had season 1 of Sex and the City to watch, so I sat snuggled up in bed (I knew that bargain blue camo blanket would come in handy) and cast on for my second sock. I got as far as doing all the rib on the cuff, and then three rows of purl afterwards (but I think I need to rip back one and a half rows, there's something not quite right there, I obviously wasn't paying enough attention), and then I managed a few rows on my Hypoteneuse. I'm getting there!

I really should be out of bed and in the bathroom right now, but before I go, I realised on the way to work yesterday that something has obviously gone awry with my Pure Purl order. When I found them online, I was searching for Malabrigo Sock, and I definitely, positively, absolutely had a skein of the Rayon Vert colourway in my basket ... (it was the first thing I put in), but it wasn't there on my order confirmation. Closer inspection last night revealed that the stock levels are showing as 0. So I suspect their shopping cart failed to stop me putting it in the basket because it was not in stock. Bum! Never mind, their 10% off sock yarn lasts all month so I may just have to shop again later ...

Okay, now I really do need to drag myself out of bed, difficult though it is when it's warm and cosy in here.
