On The Up ...

Last weekend we had a few days away in Wales, at Haven Holidays' Hafan Y Mor holiday camp, the first time away we've had as a family for almost three years. I was reluctant to go, I'll be honest. I don't make any secret of the fact that life in this household is not all champagne and roses, and I really did not want to spend four days exclusively in the company of the kids and Colin. Yeah, I know that doesn't sound very nice.
I'm glad we went though. It did me good to have a break, and even more than that, it did wonders for Colin. For a whole week now he has been much more his old self, how he used to be before the responsibility of family, mortgage and business matters started ramming him in the chest. The change in him is amazing. I feel like I've been living with a different man this week. Long may it last!
So, we've skimmed pebbles on the beach, looked up at Criccieth Castle, high up on a peninsula, been down the Llecwedd Slate Caverns, ridden the Ffestiniog Steam Railway, driven around Pwllheli at night, ate Burger King in bed in our chalet at 11.00 pm, and just generally chilled out.
Isn't a shame that we had to come back to reality?! Things are busy in my little corner of the Eye Centre, to the point that I don't even want to think about how much there is to do!
Anyway, I thought it was about time I updated this blog, so that's it for now cos it's late. Hope you enjoy the picture of my little Ethan dashing about on the beach!
