Creativity Abounds

My creative genius has been in full flow recently, it seems ... so I thought I'd post my most recent layouts for your delectation and delight:

This is my Grandma (you'd never have guessed, right?) This is how I remember her, and how I remember the house - with that delightful orange wallpaper (the carpet was green and swirly!) The journaling relates how I've recently realised that it's 23 years (on 8th Feb) since she died from cancer ... and how quickly it's gone, but how I still miss her. I'm so glad to finally have scrapped this photo - let's face it, that orange was always going to be difficult to match successfully - but hopefully I've done it justice.

Anyway, credits: Papers and embellishments - Le Chic kit by Veronica Peralta, available from DigiScrapShak here Grunge Alpha by Miss Mint at Peppermint Creative; font - Pristina.

Next, my entry for the Interview Challenge over at DSS - and a bigger challenge, to scrap it as an 8.5 x 11" page. I took the lazy way out and used a pic of me as the background; I do like this pic though cos it doesn't make me look fat!

I used one of Vickie's Grunge Frames (from DSS here), and Miss Mint's White Vellum Alpha. Font is Bookman Old Style.

You know, these challenges over at DSS are a lot of fun - have YOU taken part this month?

Next we have my little Eefie all dressed up snuggly in his new hat and gloves ... taken on a snowy day early last year ... not that there was much snow to speak of, we had a little sprinkling and that was about it.

I was lucky enough to get to play with the FREE January Challenge kit that DSS are offering - all you have to do is complete four challenges by the end of January (and there are plenty of challenges to choose from). This kit is gorgeous, not your usual ice-blue colours ... lovely soft pastels - yum!

As well as the kit (which is called Baby, It's Cold Outside and was designed by the tres talented Audra Little), I used one of Traci Reed's Double Trouble templates. Fonts were Gentle Redhead (for the title), A Larger Mime (journaling) and Bookman Old Style (date). Oh, and I used the Photoblast Acid Wash Action on the photos, available from DSS.

Are you getting bored yet?! Finally, on to two layouts made with Audra Little's absolutely gorgeous Second Spring kit ... I love this kit so much! You'll find it at DSS here.

I am SO pleased with how this one turned out! This is my GranGran's first car ... he got it sometime in the late 1940s - I didn't realise that after the second World War, once they started making cars again that people had to go on a waiting list to get one - apparently GranGran waited nearly two years for this beauty - but isn't it worth waiting for? I love old cars ... so stylish, not like some of the cars you see today.

As well as Audra's kit, I used stitching from Claudia Campbell's Straight Stitches 1 and frame from Vickie's Grunge Frames. The font is Euphorigenic; and the photo was treated with the Photoblast Dark Chocolate action.

And this last layout (of my lovely friend Jacqui) was also with the Second Spring kit ... I used the Photoblast Pro Mocha action on the photo; the journaling font is Adler and the title is using Rusted Plastic. This is my entry for the font challenge this month at DSS.

Ahem ... while you're looking at this one, check out the guy in the background ... that's one of the doctors from our place ... ooh, he's verrrry cute. How could I not scrap a photo with a handsome man in the background?! (sorry, Jacq!)

So there you have it ... the results of my creative streak. Will it last? I hope so, but probably not ... but then again, I DO have lots of other lush and lovely new goodies to play with this week ... so keep an eye out ... I'll be posting later.
