Unscathed

We made the trek down to London yesterday, to surprise my Dad as it was his birthday on Thursday. Mum knew we were coming, and she opened the door to us yesterday and we snuck into the kitchen and surprised him (or pissed him off, more likely!) We hadn't been to London since October last year for various reasons, but it was time to go, despite my misgivings.

Unfortunately, Colin forgot to put his laptop in the car, and as he had some very urgent programming that he needed to get finished for tomorrow, we had to come back early, so we left London just before midday today. I was so tired that I slept quite a lot on the way home - I kept dozing for bits here and there. I never sleep very well when we go to London - for starters, all four of us sleep in one room, so not only do I have to listen to Colin's snoring (which I am used to), but also Sean and Ethan snore like little piggies too, and hence it's quite a noisy affair. Not that I'm saying that I don't also snore, cos I know I do ...

I've been battling laryngitis for the last couple of days, with a very squeaky almost non-existent voice ... it's been interesting, to say the least.

Anyway, London was okay ... we'll be going back soon I think.

Teresa (my sister) bought the kids round this morning - Fabio made his First Holy Communion a couple of weeks ago, and he had a party to go to, so there he was in his FHC suit - oh, so grown up he looked; and Ciara looked very pretty and grown up, bless her. I took a big bunch of photos of the three of them (including Roberto, Teresa's youngest), and having had a nice peaceful evening with my laptop tonight I've managed to get two layouts done!

These are pictures of Roberto that I took today, bless him - he's so cute. I used Cindy Simon's Scrap It Quick Page Template 2 and her Doo Wop kit for this one - both available at NDISB.

Then this other page is made with photos that I took of Ethan last night, when he was tucked up on his little bed at Grandma's house, with Mr Woof Woof, Baby Woof Woof and Scooby Doo snuggled up with him. For this page I used Cindy Simon's Relic paper pack, Elementary Frame Clusters (both from NDISB) and stitching from her Strawberry Kiwi kit. The ribbon heart is by Amy Cheeseman, and the fabby scribble alpha is by Vickie Fernandez at DSS.

Speaking of layouts ...

This page that I made on Friday for my CT assignment (with the Black Tie Affair kit by Carrie Krotine at DSS) was picked as Layout Of The Day at DSS yesterday - I'm absolutely gobsmacked. The funny thing is, this layout took me about half an hour to make, and normally I spend several hours on a layout to get it looking how I want it. It just goes to show, simple is good (just as well really!)

Lucky me, I have a day off of work tomorrow as Ethan's school is closed for teacher training. I get to have a lie-in hopefully, and then I've got piles of things I want to do around the house, though whether I actually get any of them done remains to be seen. Regardless, I am determined to get to the gym tomorrow as I haven't been seen last Monday and I am NOT going to let my good intentions lapse!

On that note, I need to stick some washing in the washing machine and then I'm headed off to bed ... ready to face another day!
