If I Had Half A Brain ...

Sometimes I amaze myself with my sheer stupidity. I was so excited about winning a prize in the first One Little Word challenge, and so inspired to take part in their second challenge ('stop'), that I didn't read it properly, and hence missed the deadline, which was last Friday. D'oh!

Nevertheless, I finished my layout anyway ... and I did it just for me, which is a rarity these days, as most of my layouts are for CT assignments or challenges.

I've deliberately left it quite ambiguous ... so basically it can mean anything I want it to mean at any time. Oh, I am such a typical Cancerian ... I run the whole gamut of emotions and feelings, believe me ...

Anyway, credits: background paper is from the
Little Dreamer Designs Vintage Retro freebie kit; swirl brush is from Michelle Coleman's Antiquated Swirls pack (also from Little Dreamer Designs); the alpha is from Laura McGee's Lined Cut Out Alpha at DigiScrapShak; and the fonts are Big Fish Ensemble and Gilligan's Island.

Speaking of winning the One Little Word challenge, I got my prize today. Actually, the postie tried to deliver it yesterday, but it was in a pizza box so I had to go and pick it up from the delivery and collection office this morning on the way to work. And I was very very grown up and didn't open it until I got to work ... ooh, it's so lovely, lovely, lovely ... a pack of fifteen sheets of inkjet printable vellum; six 12 x 12" sheets of chipboard (perfect for some altering/hybrididity type projects) and a pack of 36 sheets of double sided paper - scrumptalicious! This really is going to be the catalyst for me to get back to playing with paper and glue again I hope!

A busy day at work today. Very busy! I didn't get any typing done at all today - I went off for a training session on a new system we've got coming in to make the running of theatres more efficient. I'm reserving judgement, to be honest - it seems that there is going to be a fair amount of duplication with the system that we're using now - which will apparently feed data into the new system, but not back from the new system, so any changes we have to make to any of the theatre bookings will have to be done on two systems. Typical NHS! Allegedly these issues are being looked at, but I won't hold my breath. The rest of my day was spent running around looking for some A&E notes, which seem to have become invisible, sorting out telephone queries and booking a million and one clinic appointments. Tomorrow I have the rest of the appointments to finish (another half a dozen) and then about 30 patients to put on the waiting list. That'll keep me busy for a bit!

I'm feeling guilty because I haven't been to the gym since Saturday. I was going to go last night to the hip hop class, but I had a really bad headache and I don't think it was a good idea to try and force myself to do it. I dozed in the chair instead for most of the evening. My little paranoid brain has been wondering whether all the skinny minnies at the class were saying to themselves 'ooh, the fat girl didn't come this week - knew she wouldn't be able to hack it'. Little do they know, I WILL be at the class next week, and I don't care what they think.

Time to take my half a brain to bed now, I think, cos I will be tired again tomorrow. Toodle-pip!
