Steamy

And the bathroom saga goes on ... there is no way that we will fit the 1630 x 1630 mm steam cabin in the bathroom - or at least, if we do there won't be any room for the loo or the washbasin. So I've been looking at the 1700 x 900 mm one, or the 1500 x 1500 mm one. Or maybe even the 1350 x 1350 one if all else fails.

Colin is pissed off that he can't have the biggest one, because he says we could get in the jacuzzi together. Erm, no. Don't think so. On the other hand, Ethan would be very pleased as I could get in there with him.

Going by our usual 'bigger better faster more' ethos, naturally we would want the biggest, best and shiniest. But do we really need it? Yes, if we had one that had a double shower in it I wouldn't have to wait for Colin to get out of the bathroom in the mornings, but I kinda like that extra ten minutes in bed in the morning. I think, however, that we are going to have to settle for a smaller one. Now, if only I could get him motivated to get his finger out and start getting things arranged, I'd be happy.

Back to work for me tomorrow. As usual, my four days off went by really quickly ... but at least I only have a day and a half back at work before I am off again, thankfully. This Easter has been fairly relaxed and chilled out. I spent a lot of yesterday knitting up a storm with my Hedera socks. Except they are Hedera socks no longer. The yarn I'm using is horrible, it feels really hairy (though very squishy when it is still wound into a ball) and very stiff to knit with. I started on the lace pattern of the first sock and it was horrible. I kept ending up with one too many stitches, so I finally made the decision to rip back to the end of the ribbing, and although I am still following the Hedera pattern, I'm not doing the lace, just doing it all in stocking stitch, and with a much shorter leg. I finished the first sock early this afternoon and am dithering about casting on the second one. I am annoyed that the yarn starts with a different colour in each ball (it's a self-striping yarn), so I will not have a matching pair of socks. It sort of offends my need for symmetry to have them looking so drastically different (quite why though, is a mystery - I am the Queen of odd socks - it's rare for me to be wearing a matching pair). I am going to have to bite the bullet though and just cast on (I can't be arsed to pull my way through the ball until I find a matching bit.

There are so many other things that I could and should have done this weekend, but it was nice to just chill out and do something for me ... and of course my stash will be minus a bit more sock yarn, which will give me the perfect excuse to buy some more ... but definitely not that Regia stuff - yukky!
