Finding My Style

How happy are you with the art that you are producing? When you finish a layout do you shut down the file and not particularly want to look at it again; or do you have to keep going to look at it on your computer - either on your hard drive or at whichever sites you've uploaded it to?
I guess the answer for most people would be SOMETIMES I'm happy with it.
I think finally I'm starting to find my own style, and I'm really loving more and more of the pages I produce. LOVE this one! This is one of those pages that started out completely different to how it ended up. The original page had a different photo; then it had this photo in it's natural state; and then I took it off again and ran the blue action on it. The glitter swirl has been at every angle known to man, and resized twenty times. Don't you just love that patterned paper? I would absolutely love to have a sofa in that pattern and colours ... it would be soft and velvety and comfy to sit on.

You know what, I love this page so much I think I might try and recreate it in *gasp* paper!!!
Anyway, my own style ... lately I seem to be just going for it and making pages that I'm really proud of. Of course, there are still others that I've struggled with and don't feel that I really achieved what I wanted ... but that must be the same for everyone. I think the problem is, despite loving being on the DSS CT, where there are so many awesome designers, and where I am so lucky cos I get to play with different products from different designers each week; sometimes I have to play with stuff that I probably wouldn't buy myself. That's NOT a bad thing though - I just tend to have a specific sort of kit that I go for (like funky colours; or really grungy etc), and if I have to use something significantly different my mojo can be heard screaming 'eek' at the concept of having to really step outside the box. I think it must be a lack of creative confidence. Hhhmmm, maybe I should make a point of choosing stuff that I wouldn't necessarily go for myself. Well, I always did say I liked to be perverse!
However, it does look like my creative confidence is growing and developing, and I've been loving the pages I've been doing lately. Yay me!
The next prompt is up at One Little Word - this time the word is 'New'. I'm going to have to think about this one ... see if I can't come up with a creative twist for it.
Catch you all later!
