Oranges and Linen
My good intentions to go to the gym this weekend ended in nothingness. I had to go and see the Accountant first thing yesterday morning, and the plan was that we'd go in the afternoon. But I had those bloody pains again all weekend (thankfully just the actual pain, without the horrible spasms) and we didn't get round to it. So the plan was to go first thing this morning, and despite still feeling grotty this morning I was set to go. I wanted to do the parent and child yoga class with Ethan, while Sean did the teen gym class; but the pair of them put the kybosh on my plans. Sean said he was just too tired to go, and Ethan flatly refused to do yoga (despite having no idea what it actually is).
So, we ended up going off to Solihull to get Sean a few bits and pieces for his holiday (he's off to Devon next weekend for a week with his Dad and Stepmum). I swear we walked miles and miles! We started off in H&M, who were doing buy one get one free on all sale items. Now, I went in there with the realisation firmly fixed in my head that their sizes all come up quite small (it saves me from the depression that follows finding nothing that actually fits). I ended up buying a lovely pair of loose linen trousers in a sort of beigey marl colour (loose on the legs, that is, they're tight around my bum and belly, but a few more pounds off will soon remedy that!) - they were just £4.99 in the sale. I also got myself a very funky pair of 3/4 length cargos in a lovely bright orange colour - just £3.99, but free under the BOGOF thing. Can't be bad - two pairs of trousers for a fiver! Normally I wouldn't touch a pair of orange trousers with a bargepole, but they were such a bargain and they looked great on, so why resist!
Next we headed to Sports World where Sean picked up a couple of t-shirts, and I spent up large(ish) on a few t-shirts and another pair of shorts for Colin for the gym, swim armbands and goggles for Ethan, sweatbands for me (for hulahooping!) and a couple of water bottles for gym use for Col and Sean. Then on to M&S for a look for some more school trousers for Ethan (couldn't find his size), Boots to look for a sandwich (they had none) then Whittards for a few more packets of dried apricots (I live on those things!) and then back to the car. I am sure we walked miles, cos my feet were killing me and my legs had gone all stiff. I do love shopping!
So, no gym for me. I feel guilty that I haven't been, but with any luck I'll be able to get to the hip hop class tomorrow night, and if not, then we will go swimming instead. But by hook or by crook, I will be at that gym tomorrow!
