A-Root-A-Toot-Tooty!
Excuse me while I blow my own trumpet for a minute ...Here's the layout I did for my CT assignment this week - I chose Chelle Belle's gorgeous Bloomin Crab Apple kit (I've had my eye on it for ages, the colours are just so sumptuous and yummy).

Anyway, so first of all I discover that Laura has posted the layout on her blog ... and then I discover that it's also been chosen as Layout Of The Day at DSS - whoo-hoo! So there we go, that's Katie's little boost (and boast!) for the day.
Well, I'm now 40 +3 days ... I'm getting used to it, slowly. People at work have been telling me how good I'm looking, and I've got to agree - I think the weight is still coming off slowly, and I'm learning to choose clothes that look good rather than just buying something that fits. And getting my hair done last week obviously helps.
I don't know why, but all of a sudden I seem to want to shop in more exclusive shops than the usual cheap and cheerful ones that I usually frequent. Maybe I really am growing up, do you think? I seem to be developing a fondness for Debenhams - there is a little one at the shopping centre I go to most frequently, and I'd never actually been in there until last week when I was looking for shoes to wear for my birthday celebrations. I was very impressed with what I found in there - I got a fabulous necklace for £6 in the sale, but more than that I have discovered that in actual fact they do have some fabulous stuff that really isn't THAT expensive!
I saw a nice pair of shoes in there at the weekend, dark brown leather, very pointy toe, with a little grosgrain bow over an animal print insert (I don't 'do' animal print, but these shoes are very cute - and only £20 too) ... somebody stop me, the kids are going to starve at this rate!
I also seem to have the urge to glam up a bit ... I noticed in Debenhams that they sell all sorts of weird and wonderful cosmetic ranges. Too Faced caught my eye ... and so off to Ebay I went (yes, so I like shopping in Debenhams, but that doesn't mean I don't want to get it much cheaper if I can!) and I managed to get hold of their Lip Injection Extreme Serum for less than half price - basically you paint it onto your lips twice a day and it is supposed to plump them up. I was also after their Lash Injection - a mascara that really gives your lashes some va-va-voom, but I was outbid with 4 seconds to go (damn!) So now I have the choice of wait until someone else lists one, or go and pay full price for it. It seems sinful to pay £12.50 for a tube of mascara, but hey, I suppose I'm well worth it!
Okay, so maybe this should be my motto for my 40's ... I'm worth it!
On that note, off to bed to try my lip plumper-lumper.
