Packing Up

Ooh, get me! A second day of posting - will it last? Probably not, so let's enjoy it while it lasts!


Well, today has been interesting to say the least. Ethan wasn't feeling too great this morning - he's had a bad cold and a sore throat, but he went off to school reasonably happily. At 10.15 am I got a call from school to say that my little boy was sick ... but oh! Not my LITTLE little boy, my BIG little boy ... it was my Seanie. He had been very sick at school, and I was summoned to come and pick him up.


Poor boy, he looked dreadful ... he had a bad migraine, and I packed him straight off to bed when we got home. I could've gone back to work, but I didn't feel he should be on his own, so I took the rest of the day off. And what a lot I've achieved! I've cleared some more space in my bedroom, filling a binbag full of clothes that went in the recycling bin tonight ... basically I have a huge container in there that was full of clothes that I'd put aside to sell on Ebay but never got around to ... so while I was turfing it out I found lots of clothes that I'd forgotten about, some of which might fit me now that I've lost a bit of weight ... oh joy!


Then after Sean woke up again (and after we had a nice cuddle) feeling much better, we have more or less emptied the huge cupboard/shelving unit in the lounge ... my new couches are coming on Saturday, and the lounge is being decorated next week, so the unit needed to be emptied so that we can move it out and get the room emptied. Okay, so at the moment the room looks like a bombsite (boxes of books everywhere and scraps of wallpaper all over the floor - well, no point in clearing it all up until I get the furniture out and can do it properly); but in two weeks time I will hopefully more or less have the lounge of my dreams, with lovely leather furniture, tasteful decor and that light and airy feel that I hanker after. However, none of the decorating can happen until Colin has channelled some cables into the walls, put picture rail up and moved the radiator ... he'd better get a move on, because the decorator starts next Friday!


When the decorating has been done I still need to find some new curtains/blinds, a lovely big rug, and a wooden floor. I'm not so worried about the floor though, we can do that last if we need to.


So tonight I've had a relaxing evening, ignoring the chaos while I make all my lovely decorating plans in my head. And guess what, I even made a layout! Wahoo! But I can't show you yet ... well, I could, but I haven't resized it yet and I can't be bothered now, so you'll have to wait!
