Exhausted
Is it just me, or does this week seem to have flown by? I just don't know where the time has gone, honestly. Perhaps it's because I have been so horrendously busy.
This week at work has been very stressful. Connecting for Health, the new computerised medical records system that is being installed across the country, is upon us. On Monday a new patient information system goes live at work, necessitating every single set of medical records in the hospital needing to be manually allocated a new format identification number, and relabelled. We were told that we had to clear as many sets of notes out of our offices as possible by yesterday so that they could all be filed back in place in Medical Records ready for the renumbering and relabellling. Hence I have worked my socks off this week, frantically trying to get all my clinic typing done so that I could get rid of the notes. Did I achieve it? Yes ... I typed the last clinic letter this morning, and now have completely clear shelves (unheard of!). Unfortunately, Medical Records refused to accept any more notes yesterday in the middle of the afternoon, so I have a huge pile of notes that shouldn't be in my office.
The Hospital are banking on as many staff as possible turning in on Sunday to help with the renumbering - I will go in for a few hours if Colin doesn't get called out (he's on call this week) - as we've been told that any notes in our offices that don't get relabelled on Sunday will have to be relabelled by us on Monday, I figured that I'd far sooner go in on Sunday and get paid double time to do it. From what I hear though, it's going to be a disaster - it seems there are very few of the medical records staff who are prepared to come in and work, so I can see that Monday will bring chaos with no-one knowing what's happening.
Anyway, such frantic activity this week has left me exhausted. Not just exhausted, but exhausted to the point where I look like crap. And then I find that I go to bed and I just don't get a good night's sleep. Right now I have one of those 'I'm really tired' headaches, my eyes are sore and I just can't be bothered with anything much. There's been no scrapping for me this week, I just haven't had the motivation.
Naturally, being so exhausted doesn't really help my state of mind, but you know what, I am trying my hardest to pull myself out of this. That's got to be a good thing, right? I'm trying really hard not to let anything get to me (not necessarily succeeding, but I'm trying!)
So, no scrapping, but I have taken some pictures this week that I am pleased with. These first few are of a weird big thistley thing in Jacqui's back garden - love them!

I used the Photoblast Sharp Shot Colour Pop action on these, just to boost the colour a bit.

Anyway, our assignment this last week for the Painting With Light course was to frame our subject. Seriously, there seems to be a lack of photography-worthy frames in Birmingham because I have had my eyes peeled and not found anything to photograph - of course, it could be because my week has been filled with work, work and more work - so I had to think outside of the box yesterday and took these of Ethan on the way out of school. This first one, I used the Photoblast Antique Colour filter on, and its made the shot look much more interesting.

So there you have it, my week in a nutshell. Time for me to put the computer down now, I think, and have a little snooze ...
