Is It Still A Bargain If ...?

Can someone tell me, if you buy something that's super-cheap in the sales - is it still a bargain if you wouldn't have brought it at full price? Cos today I brought several things that may or may not be bargains, depending on how you look at it.

My shopping venue for the day was Sainsburys ... they had a 25% off sale on all their clothes and accessories. I lied and said that I wanted to look for new shoes for Seanie ... but really I wanted another shrug, in black this time (I got a cream one before we went to Germany).

So I picks up me shrug and shoves it in the trolley ... and then I spies a gorgeous khaki cardigan knitted from ribbon, with a ruffle and a tie at the front. Bargainous at £15 (should've been £20). So then I go round to the next aisle with Sean and while he looks at the men's clothes I browse the mega-reduced-rail clothes. I found a tunic top that was reduced to £7.50, thought I'd try it on. Then I found a white A-line skirt with a funky pattern in a beigey green and a dark brown colour ... it was reduced to £5.40. Then a brown A-line linen skirt, also £5.40. Then ... a pair of cropped jeans reduced to just £2.40! Yes! Really! Then a pair of black crop trousers that were something like £2.60. So, off I mosey to the changing rooms, thinking that maybe the cardigan will fit, but probably nothing else. Oh poo. It all fit. In fact, the skirts were too big and I had to go and find the next sizes down. I heard them announcing the sale again over the PA system, and they said that even the stuff in the sale would have 25% off. That was all the encouragement I needed. Seanie picked himself out two t-shirts and three pairs of jeans, and off we went to finish the rest of the shopping.

So we get to the tills. The tunic top went through at £4.50, with 25% off of that ... one of Sean's t-shirts had been reduced to half price (so £2.50 instead of a fiver), with 25% off of that ... my jeans went through at a total price of £1.80 (I mean, how could you resist a price like that, even if you wouldn't have brought them otherwise?) ... the black trousers around £2, and the two skirts at £4.05 (I think ... they might even have been cheaper than that).

Did I get a bargain, or did I get a bargain? Only problem is, I need to find some room in my already over-packed wardrobes for these new clothes to live ... mwah ha ha hahahahahah.

Shomebody shtop me!
