And So To Bed

Yay! We got the new bed up in the bedroom yesterday, so last night we enjoyed waving at each other from opposite sides (we bought a super kingsize bed, so it's huge). It's a bit harder than we're used to, but the bed we were sleeping on before was majorly old. My sister gave it to me when I had Sean, and he will be 15 in a few weeks; she'd had it for about 7 years when she gave it to me, so it was well past its sell by date. I don't think there were any functioning springs left in that old mattress!

I would love to say that we both had a peaceful and restful night's sleep and woke up refreshed, but sadly we didn't. We left the window open again last night and there were all sorts of noises outside that had to be investigated (it sounded like someone was trying to break into a car), and then the plastic struts on my roman blind were keeping us awake as they were scraping against the window frame as the blind moved in the breeze - eventually I got out of bed and pulled them all out! Then Colin had to get up and get dressed and go to his van to find his gout medication, when the pain got too much for him.

Unfortunately I was up at 6.00 am, as Colin has gone on a course this morning and I promised to get up early and help him pack his bag (he's back on Wednesday). So, I'm feeling really tired, but hopefully I'll perk up later. In half an hour I'm off to the doctors to have bloods done for liver function and cholesterol, so maybe I'll nip into Costa on the way back and get myself a big cappuccino to give me a bit of zing!

Finally, here's another layout I did yesterday. Everything except for the dymo letters (which are Christina Renee) are from the My Scrapbook Art kit that they gave away free when they opened (I have no idea how long ago that was).

I'm not entirely sure that I like this layout, though I do love the photo of my little monkey. I've decided that if I'm going to take up digiscrapping again, I'm playing by MY rules, and not what I think the rules should be for good layouts (does that make sense?) I think I was suffering from digiscrap burnout before ... but when I go through my finished layout folder I am blown away at how wonderful my layouts are (I'm not boasting, just recognising that no matter what other people may think, the main objective is to preserve memories how I WANT to preserve them).

Hopefully I'll find time later to knock out another layout ... ah, how well I remember the days when I first started digiscrapping when a layout a day was the norm. Whatever, I'm enjoying indulging myself and making time to play.
