Working Holiday

I had such great plans for this week. I've been off yesterday and today, and am off tomorrow. I was determined that I was going to get the kids out of the house and actually do something for once, but surprise surprise, it hasn't happened.

Colin is away on his course, and very kindly left me a huge load of stamps to finish off. So, I spent more than half the day yesterday cutting and mounting stamps, which Sean then packaged up for me. We did manage to get out for an hour to look for school shoes, but that was it, by the time I'd answered all Colin's e-mails, done several quotes and made several proofs. Today we'd planned on going to the pictures, but of course it didn't happen. The most we managed today was to get Sean's new school tie (for some strange reason his school introduced a new tie for Year 10 pupils upwards), and some new school shirts for Ethan. Oh, and a suitcase, some compression bags and some holdbacks for my bedroom curtains.

And yet again I have been taking call, answering e-mails and working out quotes/making proofs. I shouldn't complain, it's great that the business is so busy, but just for once I would have liked to have been able to treat the kids to a couple of outings.

I've come to the conclusion that those tablets for my vertigo are not going to work - today it has been worse than ever, and I've felt quite disorientated for a large part of the day. I still went belly dancing, which was interesting bearing in mind that my head was spinning. I was naughty and went to the chippy on the way home (mini fish and chips for me and Ethan, and fish and chips for Sean), as a reward for the boys tidying up the living room and kitchen while I was out. Tomorrow my best friend Jacqui is coming to inspect my lovely new bedroom (which is looking sooooo much better) and for dinner, so we will be spending some time in the morning finishing the housework. My shopping from Sainsburys will be delivered in the morning too (I really need to give the fridge a good clean out before I unpack it all), and then we are going to have to hang around waiting for a big delivery of stamp stuff that we need for orders, so it looks like we won't get to the pictures tomorrow either. Oh well. If all else fails we will have to go at the weekend suppose.

Anyway, it's gone midnight and I have to be up early tomorrow, so I'm heading off for a shower now, followed by my lovely lovely lovely new bed!
