Frantic

I can't quite believe how quickly time is passing these days. It seems like only a week or so ago that we were counting down the weeks until our trip to Germany ... and now here we are, several days after returning from our trip.

I've just downloaded a shed load of photos from my camera, and I was going to post some here, but frankly it's 11.00 pm and I'm tired, and I can't be arsed.

Anyway, the edited highlights of Germany:

Thursday - Ethan's belated birthday present from Grandma and Grandad was a pair of rollerblades, a helmet and protectors - he loves them. Evening - schnitzel - yum yum yum yum

Friday - Lufti - a playbarn type place where we lost Ethan for a total of three hours while he had a whale of a time playing - we also went bowling there. Oh, and I finished my Not-Quite-Hedera-Shortie-Socks while we were there too.

Saturday - chilled out day. Go Karting in the afternoon, followed by a spot of yarn shopping at Kaufhaus and casting on a new pair of socks whilst enjoying the sun out in the garden.

Sunday - more chilling out. Trip to Affenberg (monkey mountain). More Go Karting (boring as hell, but the boys enjoy it). Out for dinner, lovely food.

Monday - relaxing. Packing. Back to airport. Plane home. Big row with Colin on drive home from airport.

Tuesday - shit shit shit, back to work etc etc etc

Yes, so yet again we had a lovely time. For me, the most fascinating part of going to Germany is going to Kaufland, their local supermarket. That place knocks every supermarket I've ever been to in England into a cocked hat - it is massive and has a massive variety of products. That in itself would be a good enough reason to move over there! It really pisses me off that I can go to Sainburys here and not good everything I need for more than a day or two.

This trip's golden hour: white asparagus. I'd never heard of white asparagus before (though obviously I know the green stuff), but it is lovely. I did a search online last night and managed to find a german deli in London who import it and will have some next week - deffo buying some!

Oh dear, battery about to die, guess I'd better stop here. More tomorrow possibly - though tomorrow is the day that Ethan has his surgery :o(
