In Hot Water

FINALLY!! Today, after THREE years, I've got hot water in my kitchen!

Yep, you read that right. I've had no hot water in there for three years. It's three years since Colin started doing the kitchen, and although I've had cold water in there all along, I've been waiting and nagging about the hot water all that time.

It's not as bad as it sounds though, as the kitchen is in what used to be the dining room (although originally it did start off as the kitchen, as this is a Victorian house; the last owners had an extension built on and moved the kitchen into there). There's been hot water all along in the extension kitchen (which houses my washing machine and tumble dryer, plus Colin's stamp machines); although I've not used it. If I needed hot water, I just boiled the kettle.

Anyway, finally he's found the time/motivation to run the pipe down from the boiler upstairs, and I can go out and get lovely hot water any time I like now. Is this the shape of things to come? Might it be too much to hope for that now that the water is sorted out, he might actually get on and get the rest of it finished? It's not really as if there is loads to be done - the cupboard doors need to be put on on the sink side of the room, one more cupboard needs to go up on the wall, and the tiling needs to be done, and then the whole room painted. I'm not going to get too excited though, I daresay I'll be waiting at least another year for it all to be done. *sigh*.
