A New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you've all seen the New Year in in style? We've had a quiet evening at home again, accompanied by several bottles of lager (me and Sean, who thinks I haven't noticed how much he's drunk) and Jools Holland's Hootenanny. JHH is becoming a bit of a tradition in our house, as I love to heckle the really poor acts.

Speaking of which, I can't believe they've had that awful, talentless waste of space Duffy on yet again, singing the same shit that she sang when she was on last year. She sounds like a crucified cat, just completely and utterly awful beyond belief. Yuk. Of course the utter highlight of the evening was Dave Edmunds singing Girls Talk ... I love that song so much. A bit of trivia for you, it was written by Elvis Costello (who I am a big fan of), but the version he recorded was much slower than the Dave Edmunds version, which is just top notch.

The kids are currently taking stupid photos of each other, but at least they're having fun. Me, I'm sinking another bottle of lager, enjoying my pwitty lights on the Christmas tree and wondering how late I'll get to sleep tomorrow. And I haven't knitted a stitch all day either.

Let's hope 2009 is a fabulous year for us all.
