Craftiness
Amazingly enough, I have done a digital layout. Surprised? Yep, me too. It's far too long since I sat and played ... and I can't wait to be able to get at all my paper supplies to play (which will be some time in the future given that it is all in the dining room at the mo, behind piles of junk which I absolutely must get round to sorting out and binning).
Why this sudden activity? Well ... there's a new sketch blog started up courtesy of Anam Stubbington, who as any self-respecting scrapper will tell you, is a much in demand Irish scrapper who now lives in Canada. The blog is called Twisted Sketches, and Anam is looking for a design team, so I thought I would have a go - I really need something to focus on to get me scrapping with a vengeance again.
So, here's my take on her sketch:
I took this photo at Mum's house in January 2008 - Ethan was sitting on the back doorstep and I was outside clicking away. There's something about that boy that, whenever a camera appears, makes him turn into a funny faced freakazoid, bless him. I do love this photo though and I'm glad I finally got to scrap it!
I don't expect to get picked for Anam's design team, but it was fun trying out for it anyway.
So, in other crafty news, I have been knitting. I went to the UK Ravelry Day in Coventry on 6th June and managed to only buy three skeins of yarn (I could've spent much more money but Ethan insisted on coming with me and so I didn't get to browse at my leisure). I've got two projects on the go at the moment - one is a cricket jumper type thing that was in Knitting magazine a couple of months ago, and the other is this:
Isn't it pretty? It's designed by Rosi Garmendia. I really wanted to do this in a similar colour, but then at the Ravelry Day my eye was caught by this gorgeous yarn from Old Maiden Aunt - the yarn looks more purpley in the picture, but it's pale pink with a hint of lavender, and it's absolutely gorgeous - and lovely to knit with. It's coming along nicely, and I'm about halfway through it so far. I just thought it would be something relatively quick and easy.
Believe it or not, when I've finished both my scarf and Ethan's jumper, I think I might make a start on my Christmas pressie projects - OH, that is, after I've knitted something for my friend Imran's baby boy, who made his entrance this morning!Okay, need to sit down now - not only digiscrapping today but blogging too - where on earth will it all end ?!?!
