Need Inspiration
Life seems to have been too hectic lately to allow me time to blog. Maybe a more accurate description would be that I just couldn't be bothered ... I have been feeling a bit down this last week or so, and just haven't really done much of anything.
So, the DSS 1st Year Anniversary Splash seems to have been a riproaring success, which I am delighted about. It's been lovely this week to see so many new names appearing on the forum - more people to chat with is always good. Unfortunately I had to be very restrained in my shopping as Colin was watching over my shoulder and we are extremely skint at the moment, but I did manage to bag 9 of the awesome Treasure Boxes, plus Cinzia's Brothers kit and her Enchantment kit. I'm going to have to stop buying stash and start using some though! The trade-off for becoming Events Manager at DSS was that I had to come off the Creative Team (boo-hoo), and I don't seem to have done much in the way of scrapping at all for the last month or so. I really miss being on the CT, apart from anything else it gave me the push to keep scrapping every week.
Anyway, here are two layouts that I have managed to get done this week:
This one was inspired by a random conversation with Ethan earlier this week - I asked him what his favourite colour was (I think we were reading a book about colours) and his response was 'I love all colours, EVEN PINK!' I knew that already, he's always been fond of pink. So, I knew I had this photo of him that I wanted to scrap, and I knew that Janello's Perspective Challenge this week was to scrap in non-typical gender colours, so basically this was the obvious page to make. I also went for a multipurpose effect by using Susie's Hand for my journaling, which was the font chosen by Pam for the Font Challenge this month.Ethan was lying on top of me on the sofa a while ago, and because I hadn't been feeling well he'd brought his duvet down so that we could snuggle. He has his 'girl bed' duvet cover on - when I saw it I knew he'd love it, despite it being very girlie - it is covered in stars, circles and hearts in shades of lilac, yellow, red, blue and pink. Naturally because it's girlie he calls it his girl bed, bless him.
And here's the other - this I did for the Scraplift challenge. This one took me ages, and after I'd finished it I moved the title around for another half an hour and then changed the background paper ... I'm still not sure that I'm desperately in love with it though. Ah well, it's another layout done though.I just don't seem to be feeling very inspired lately, that's my problem. I dragged out huge mountains of my card making supplies (mainly my Self-Addressed kits) this morning with a view to making a few cards for upcoming birthdays, but I just don't know where to start. Even an hour browsing through the inspiration section of the Self-Addressed website hasn't helped - everything there looks so fabulous and I can't see how I can make anything similar.
For now I have put everything away again, in the hopes that tomorrow will see my creative mind overflowing with ideas - put it this away, it had better be, cos I need a card for a birthday on Monday!
I seem to be feeling uninspired in all directions lately - I am two weeks behind on my assignments for my photography course too. I think I just need a giant kick up the arse!
Right, I am off to Sainsburys to pick up some flowers - I am off to Jacqui's for dinner tonight. I was going to stay over (and get drunk!) but it looks like I may well have to come home, as Colin is working this weekend and will probably have to be out of here really early tomorrow - no fair! Hopefully if the sun is still shining when I get to Jacqui's I will be able to persuade her to pose for me - this week's photog assignment is people pictures.
In the meantime, if anyone has any mojo going spare, PLEASE e-mail it to me!
