Blissful

So, I'm back again and it's not even tomorrow yet.

I took the opportunity of the peace and quiet to do a layout, and here it is:

This is my very dear friend, Waheeda, and her new husband. I've known Waheeda for nine years - we met during my first week as research secretary for one of the diabetologists at the hospital where I work. Waheeda is one of the Optometrists at the Eye Centre, which is where I have been working for the past eight years, having only stayed in my post as research secretary for one year. We hit it off immediately and have been great friends ever since. I have often despaired that Waheeda would ever want to settle down - she's extremely intelligent and over the years that I've known her she's studied really hard and got a PhD and God only knows what other qualifications; and from what I can tell marriage has never been very high on her agenda. I was totally floored when she came to tell me just a couple of months ago that she was finally settling down, and I was delighted to get an invite to the wedding reception. I have never ever seen Waheeda wear make-up - she's one of these people that really needs no make-up at all, she's gorgeous. When I caught my first glimpse of her in her beautiful lengha, with make-up on, I was so choked up that I nearly cried. I have never seen her look more beautiful, or as happy as she did on her wedding day.

Had a great time at the wedding too! I went with Si, my boss, and we sat with some colleagues and had fun. The food was divine, and it was lovely to meet Waheeda's family at long last.
