How To Make Kate Extremely Happy ...
All it took was just a couple of lines of text ... there was a thread over on DST suggesting that all those who were sporting 'Searching for a CT' blinkies posted in the thread so that designers looking for new CT members could find people easily. All I did was post and say that I'd have to get myself a blinkie too. Next thing I know a PM lands in my inbox from Kiki Scraps, asking me if I'd like to join her CT! Would I ever! Her work is gorgeous ... her papers in particular look like they're really detailed and textured. So there I am, high on excitement at having been ASKED to join a CT rather than having to apply, when I get another PM, from Jannylynn at DigiScrapShak, asking me to join the store CT!
OH MY GOD!
I'm so excited ... there are 11 designers at DSS and I'll get the chance to work with them all - how cool is that! So now I'm on 3 CTs (3, not 4 - Denise Liemert has sadly hung up her designing hat - but I'm keeping the blinkie!), so I'm going to be a busy bee in the future - but as I explained it to Colin, the more time I spend scrapping, the less time I've got to spend all his money ... mwah hah ha ha ha!
Excitement breeds creativity in this lil bunny, so here we are with my first Kiki Scraps layout:
This is using Kiki Scraps' beautiful Santorini Sunset kit, available at The Daily Scrap (I would link directly to the kit, but the site is down for maintenance at the moment).Fonts used were Aquiline Two (title), MA Sexy (tag) and Monotype Corsiva (journaling)
Well, as you can probably guess from the title of the layout, that's my Dad. And that vision of gorgeousness at his side is my big sister, Lee (but she's not as gorgeous as me). Dad is one of these people who doesn't really give much away, but he always tries to give off this impression that he'd just as soon be at home reading the paper than out having fun at a party or whatever, but he doesn't fool me ... he's usually the main man at any family gathering, cos he's just so funny and everyone (ie everyone that's not family) thinks he's great. Well, of course he's great, he's my lovely Daddy!
Anyway, I'm digressing. I loved using this kit ... although I used the red toned papers and embellishments, that's only half the story. The kit also contains papers and embellishments in a gorgeous turquoisey blue. The papers would be great for heritage pages too, and I LOVE the flowery sticker (there's a wonderful stick pin too).
I was going to post the layout I've done for DigiScrapShak, but Blogger is having a hissy fit and won't let me upload it ... so I'll try again in a minute.
