The Ups and The Downs

My labyrinthitis tablets aren't working. Yet. Today has been interesting, to say the least. Our plan was to crack on with the painting in my bedroom, and there was still yet more crap to dig up off the floor and either bin or chuck in a box ready to put away when everything is finished. Most fun when every time you bend over the floor comes up to meet you (well, obviously if you bend towards it it's going to come up to meet you, but you know what I mean).

I did a great job of painting the window frame, despite going woozy and everything spinning every time I looked up! Actually, I only did the bottom half of the frame, Sean very kindly climbed the stepladder and did the top half for me, otherwise there would probably have been paint all over the glass as well, and all over me. Very slowly things are coming together, but still not as quickly as I would have liked. Tomorrow I need to dismantle the old drawer unit and get it out, and clear out all the rest of the clutter so that the new bed can go in (obviously the old bed needs to be got rid of too, and I tell you, I really can't wait for that cos it's really uncomfortable). I will post photos once it is all finished - it's going to look fabulous when it's all done, despite the fact that I need to save up for two more drawer units (at £120+ a pop they're not cheap, but it does look so nice to have drawers that match the wardrobes).

Other than that, not much happening here today. I managed to fit in a couple of hours of knitting - like thousands of other Ravelry members I am knitting the February Lady Sweater - isn't it gorgeous? The only problem is, cos I'm doing the biggest size, I feel like it's taking forever to knit. It isn't really, bearing in mind that it's knitted in one piece with no seaming, but it does seem slow going. I was hoping to have it finished so that I can wear it to Robert and Andrea's wedding at the end of the month, but I am doubtful that I will manage it. I reckon there's another 12 hours of work at least to finish the main body of it, let alone the sleeves, and time is quite short at the moment what with one thing and another.

Anyway, I'm doing it in a lovely soft khaki colour (pic 'borrowed' from Ravelry), and hopefully it will look good on me. In these days of yarns being tres expensive, this yarn was an absolute bargain at £1.15 a ball, and it is knitting up really nicely - I've heard that it washes well too, which is a bonus!

Okay, time to stop boring you with news of knitting ... maybe I'll just sit and do another couple of rows before I go to bed, it all helps.
