Knitterly Swappywopfings

I'm all excited. I've joined up for a swap on Ravelry, with the theme of winter warmers - I can't wait to get underway! So here we go, first off all, here's my answers to the questionnaire:


Kit Swap

What kind of kit are you interested in receiving? I am really into hats at the moment, so a hat kit would be great, but also a scarf or fingerless gloves would be cool. Or socks. Or a wrap of some sort. Maybe it would just be easier to say that anything other than mittens or fingered gloves would be wonderful?

Are you interested in any particular techniques? Not especially. As long as it's nothing too complicated, it's all good.

Do you knit, crochet, or both? I knit. I did have a cursory lesson on the finer points of crochet a couple of months ago, but I haven't got the hang of it by any means.

What is your favourite colour? I like all colours, but in particular rich, strong colours - purple, pinks, red, greens (sage especially), burnt orange, rich blues, chocolate brown ...

What is your least favourite colour? Electric brights - like fluorescent orange etc.

What’s your style? (elegant, traditional, glamourous, girly, natural, sporty, outgoing, etc.) Ooh, now this is a difficult one. In my head I am a sort of emo-goth-rock-chick kind of girl. But in reality, I am an extremely overweight woman in her early 40s, and I suppose I would say that my style is eclectic, natural, outgoing, irreverent and girlie. I'm definitely not elegant or glam!

Do you have a favourite type of fiber or brand of yarn? I like natural fibres, and organic would be nice. I haven't knitted with a huge range of stuff yet, but out of what I have used I do really like Sublime - but I am itching to try lots of other stuff, especially hand-dyed and/or hand-spun.

Do you have a least favourite type of yarn? Acrylic is a big no-no.

Do you do any other crafts? I used to be an obsessed scrapbooker ... when I got sick of paper scrapbooking I moved on to digital scrapbooking, but I haven't done any for ages. I'm intrigued by spinning, so maybe that will be my next craft to try.

Are there any knitting accessories you are interested in receiving? Can't think of any, though I'm sure there must be something that I can't live without!

What do you like to eat? I am a girl. I eat chocolate and cake! Love anything coffee-flavoured. I like most things really, apart from mashed potato, swede and pease pudding (bleurgh!)

Any allergies/preferences (fiber-wise or treat-wise)? Don't think so.

Anything we missed that you’d like your partner to know? I am not a number, I am a free man!
